The Real estate market in Cyprus has been booming for the last decade. Just when everyone thought that prices could not rise anymore, they did. And now (Aug 2007) the projected rise for the next year is a further 20% according to a government spokesman answering questions in the house recently.

Houses and villas which were available a couple of years ago at the 60-70 thousand pound mark are now fetching 140 - 170 without much marketing at all, and apartments which were 35 - 45 thousand are now leaping out at 80 - 110 thousand in the main towns.

Larnaca still seems to be the best value for money of the larger towns, with Paphos and Limassol seeing most of the top end of the market properties.
